Optometric technicians assist optometrists in performing a variety of tasks such as recording patient medical histories and helping prepare patients for the vision examinations. They also assist with tests that include patient pre-testing for visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, pupil refl
exes, visual field testing, pressure inside the eye, and blood pressure. Optometric technicians may also be asked to assist with eye exercises and vision therapy. Optometric technicians are usually supervised by an optometrist to ensure patient health and well being.
